The second-place Majors (7-3) enter a three-game weekend with the top pitching numbers in the league — and some well-earned powers numbers. That and more in this week’s news & notes.

Atop the IBL standings early, the 6-1 Majors play three this weekend (technically four, with the remainder of their suspended home opener Friday). Their pitching has (rightly) gotten the headlines, but the bats are quietly doing some damage, too.

The Majors take a 4-1 record into the weekend (Friday vs. Toronto, Sunday @ Hamilton). Owen Boon and newcomer Jose Arias have dominated on the mound, while Robert Mullen and Drew Lawrence have made their mark at the plate.
