Fanshawe Falcons
About the Falcons
Founded in 1967, the Fanshawe Falcons, the varsity sports program at Fanshawe College, is a founding member of the Ontario College Athletic Association (OCAA). Nationally, the Falcons compete within the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA).
Consisting of 19 varsity teams competing in 14 sports, the Falcons feature men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, soccer (both indoor and outdoor), golf, badminton and cross-country, as well as men’s baseball, women’s softball and mixed curling.
From their birth to 2020, Falcons varsity teams have captured 147 provincial championships and 21 national titles. In their most recent completed season, 2019-2020, Fanshawe won five OCAA championships and a national title, earning 15 provincial and three national medals in the process.
The Falcons’ main home is the Glenn Johnston Athletic Centre, where the basketball and volleyball teams compete. The campus also has a soccer field, and a newly renovated softball diamond (Alumni Field).
James Jackson, a star volleyball player at Fanshawe for three years, continues to achieve new heights.
