About the Nationals
Founded in 1950, the London Nationals are a Junior B hockey team that competes in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL). Going under numerous names for their first 40 years, the franchise won six league titles prior to adopting the Nationals nickname for good in 1991. That same season the team was crowned Western Ontario Junior B Champions.
Since 2012, the Nationals have been perennial contenders, earning Western Conference championship titles six times during that time. The highlight of that period was the franchise’s first-ever Sutherland Cup title, in 2012-13, a run that saw Noah Schwartz earn Playoff MVP honours.
The Nationals returned to compete in the Sutherland Cup in 2016 and 2017, as well as 2019, but have yet to capture a second Cup title. Along the way, Nats players have racked up honours, including for league MVP (Cal Davis in 2019 and 2020), Top Defenceman (Quinn Lenihan in 2017, Jordan DiCicco in 2018), Top Defensive Forward (Kyle Dawson in 2018) and Top Rookie Scorer (Logan Mailloux in 2020).
Under new ownership (Paul Duarte) since 2020, the Nationals are coached by Pat Powers, who also serves as the team’s general manager. The team plays its home games at the Western Fair Sports Centre.
Jeff Burridge is having the best year of his career while captaining the London Nationals to the top of the standings in his final junior season.
