London at the Olympics
London has a long history of sending athletes to the Olympic Games — and achieving impressive results. In more recent years, the figure skating duo of Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir were crowned Olympic champions in 2010 and 2018 (and silver medalists in 2014).
At the pandemic-delayed Tokyo 2020 Summer Games, Londoners captured a remarkable four of Canada’s seven gold medals. That included Damian Warner (decathlon), swimmer Maggie Mac Neil (50m butterfly), rower Susanne Grainger (women’s eight) and women’s soccer players Jessie Fleming and Shelina Zadorsky.
Damian Warner, the reigning Olympic decathlon champ, is ready to go. Balanced, grounded and in a better place — on and off the track — than ever before, he’s eyeing a second gold at the Paris Games this summer.
