Lightning trio, coach headed to All-Star Weekend
Chris Jones, Amir Williams and Jermaine Haley Jr. (plus their coach, Doug Plumb), will represent the Lightning at the first NBLC-TBL All-Star weekend Apr. 15-16 in Syracuse, NY.

London Lightning standouts Chris Jones, Amir Williams, and Jermaine Haley Jr., along with head coach Doug Plumb, will be among the stars shining bright this weekend when the best of the NBL Canada head south of the border to play the best of The Basketball League (TBL) in the inaugural NBLC-TBL All-Star Weekend, April 15-16 in Syracuse, New York.
“Hosting this joint All-Star Weekend with our TBL partners is a wonderful way for NBL Canada to celebrate its 10th season while, at the same time, showcasing our players and bringing something new to our fans,” said Audley Stephenson, NBL Canada VP Basketball Operations. “This All-Star Weekend Event is a celebration of two leagues coming together and working in partnership while continuing to raise the profile of the game of basketball. We’re thrilled at the opportunity and can’t wait to be in Syracuse.”
Members of the NBLC squad include: Marcus Anderson, Windsor Express; Zena Edosomwan, Sudbury Five; Eric Ferguson, KW Titans; Chad Frazier, KW Titans; Jermaine Haley Jr., London Lightning; Jeremy Harris, Sudbury Five; Chris Jones, London Lightning; Joel Kindred, KW Titans; Jachai Taylor, Windsor Express; Billy White, Windsor Express; Amir Williams, London Lightning; and Dexter Williams Jr., Sudbury Five.
The Lightning’s Chris Jones has averaged 16.4 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.6 assists in 16 games this season for the first-place London squad. Amir Williams, who enjoyed a monster 40-point, 11-rebound game Saturday in Lansing, is averaging 17.3 ppg (65.3% shooting), 9.1 reb and 2.1 blocks. Jermaine Haley Jr., meanwhile, has chipped in everywhere, posting 11.2 points (58.1%), 4.4 reb, 4 asts and 1.2 steals.
London’s head coach, Doug Plumb, will lead the NBLC All-Star squad behind the bench. Plumb was named Coach of the Month for March and has had the Lightning firing on all cylinders in 2022, with a league-best 15-2 record through their first 17 contests.
The 2022 All-Star Weekend, presented by the Syracuse Stallions and Nave Law Firm, will feature a host of events, including slam dunk and three-point competitions, youth clinic, and local celebrity game.
Marcus Anderson, Eric Ferguson, Jeremy Harris, Chris Jones, Billy White, and Dexter Williams Jr. will represent the NBL Canada in the three-point shooting competition. Zena Edosomwan, Jermaine Haley Jr., and Jachai Taylor will represent the NBL Canada in the slam dunk competition.
