The National Basketball League of Canada (NBLC) will reveal its 10th Anniversary All-Time Team, comprised of the 10 greatest players in league history, during special online presentations on the league homepage (nblcanada.ca) and social media channels from April 5-14.
The 10th Anniversary All-Time Team will be the first inductees into the newly created NBLC Hall of Fame. The Hall will be a virtual environment housed on the league website commemorating the players, coaches, executives, builders, and media members who have contributed to the league.
The 10 members of the team, representing a cross-section of teams, positions, and eras of the NBLC’s history, will be announced one player per day leading up to NBLC-TBL All-Star Weekend, April 15-16 in Syracuse, N.Y. The team was selected by a 13-person committee of former league personnel, coaches, and front office staff.
“In the last decade, we have witnessed a constellation of stars pass through the NBL Canada. I cannot think of a better moment to celebrate the brightest among them than during our anniversary season when the eyes of the game are on the league,” said Audley Stephenson, NBL Canada Vice-President of Basketball Operations. “This team truly showcases the game-changers in our league’s history.”
On April 15, NBLC-TV will air a documentary dedicated to its 10th Anniversary All-Time Team during a special episode of NBLC This Week, hosted by Aaron Sanders and Karis Mapp.
Players were selected to the NBLC 10th Anniversary All-Time Team based on numerous factors, including impact on the league, on-court play, longevity, representation of league values on and off the court, influence, and community involvement.
